Even with Skier's example you've got to use the special valve stem to ensure the air stays inside.

ps, the valve works just like on any regular rim. having a beadlock on a rim does not effect the air valve in any way.

Check out the Wikipedia article on beadlocks (the one Holiday is stealing bandwidth from).
