That new cafe smell.

#1 Unread post by Meet The Twins »

I just wanted to introduce myself officially.

My name is Aaron and I picked up a 76 Honda CB500T with 8,645 miles on her 3 days ago. Paid $400 for the bike, a crate of parts, and a sears bike lift.

I already replaced the shocks, cleaned the carbs, and chopped up the batt box to fit some K&N cones.

Currently Im trying to track down the cause for no spark so expect alot of questions from me :frusty:

Nice looking ride, it has that classic "real" bike look that I love.

sounds dumb but did you make sure the battery is good and fully charged? Did you check your grounds?

Even with the kick start, on my 360t there was little no no spark when the battery wasnt fully juices. and one time the ground came loose and also, no spark when kicking over.

Just something to think about. The electrics are pretty basic on those things so it can only be so many things.

Your bike is almost as good looking as your girlfriend (although I'm probably going to h*ll/jail for just thinking that, she's probably too young).

Thanks for the Feed back guys!

1ST. The GF is 23 and has a son (not mine) so dont worry, you wont go to jail but you are into MILFS lol.

2ND. Im cleaning up all the connections tonight and running new grounds. I found a few ground cables which have pulled loose and the such.

Ill also throw the battery on the charger tonight just to be double sure. My multimeter is so old it only has settings for 9v and 15v :|

Ill update this thread tomorrow with the results

Well nothing worked.

I charged the battery. Added grounds, tore apart the electronics, and found several balls of tape with random wire splicing. After cleaning all the Bullet connectors I could find I got spark on one of the cylinders.

I even tried hot wiring the solenoid and the starter kicked over so that was good news :)
