0 volt, 6 volts and 12 volts on my fuse box slots

#1 Unread post by Nodar »

Hello,

My motorcycle (Suzuki intruder 1994) is no more starting.
The battery is doing well, gas is running but the spark plugs don't make any sparks.
Following this I discovered that my fuse box has the following situation if I check the different slots with a Voltmeter:
* Fuse for main: 12 Volts
* Fuse for head: 12 Volts
* Fuse for signal: 12 Volts
* Fuse for ignition: 6 Volts
* Fuse for Power source: 0 Volts

So I guess that's where is my problem. What can make the current to the ignition fuse only 6 Volts and no current to the power source?
Have you any idea of what I should check?

Thanks!!
Arno.

OK so your using a volt meter, right? And your connecting the black lead to the grounded side of the battery. (like the engine block) And then you use the red lead to read the voltage at the fuse. Pull the fuse and read the voltage again. Did the reading go away on one side of the fuse holder? That is the protected side of the fuse. The other side of the fuse holder is the battery side and should read 12 volts all the time. Now put the fuse back in and make voltage readings on the protected side. are they the same as before. If so replace the fuse for the power source because it's blown.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.
