Hyosung GT650R
Hyosung GT650R
I'm still looking around for a starter bike and I have come across a few places that have said you can buy a Hyosung 650 and have it tuned down to where it only puts out the power of a 250. Then when you feel like moving up, it can be switched back to a 650. Does anybody know if this is true? This seems like it would be the smartest choice since I would only need to buy one bike and I wouldn't be starting out with too much power.
ive read about a lot of porblems with the engines in hyosungs. i would stay away unless its used and you know its not one of the problem engines.

Hyosungs... have a bad rap for no real reason anymore. Just a hold over from some time ago.
The GTR250 and 650 use the same frame and wiring harness... you can swap the engines between bikes basically. Just requires some mechanical knowledge, and a spare engine.

Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Over here in the UK, we have restrictor kits for a lot of bikes, that can be fitted to bring them within 33.3 bhp
I've not sure exactly how they work, nor seen them on a shelf, but a garage can generally order them in
