I've got a couple of pairs of Draggin' Jeans. They are a little bit warmer than normal jeans and will provide you with more protection than regular jeans - which last about 10 feet or less in a slide.
I wear mine quite often but I wouldn't wear them if I were a newb. They have no armor in the knees or hips so the protection they provide isn't all that great - unless you're holding onto the back of a pickup truck. If I were a newb I'd go with mesh pants that have CE armor in the knees and some sort of hip protection/padding as well.
