Hello everyone,
My name is Austin, and I should be getting a beginner motorcycle either late this season or at the beginning of the 08 season. I am 18, going to Mich. State as a freshman this fall. I am about 5'6'', 135 lbs, and I am looking for some suggestions on beginner bikes.
I have read about a lot of different bikes, most of which I can't seem to find around me. I like the sportbike look the most, but I also like Traditional/Cruising and some Touring. Seeing that I am a college student, I am pretty much broke, so that will have a big impact on what kind of bike I can afford. I know someone in my town that is selling a Honda 400 Maxim with 13K miles for $750, in pretty good condition. I think I may start out on that because of the good price/moderate size.
Anyway, that should all go in a different forum, but thanks anyway.

Maxim sold before I could grab it, but I heard the buyer laid it down on the way home from buying it. That sucks. Anyway, probably wont be getting a cycle til spring now, any outstanding suggestions about what i should look for? I want big enough to last me for more than just a trainer bike, but not so big I kill myself etc. I was thinking maybe 500cc or is that too much?-Also, Ninja 250's look nice---anyway food for thought thanks for any help
