1998 Honda Shadow Won't start
I've had my Honda 1100 for 1 1/2 years now and have never had a bit of problems. The battery is only 6 months old and has been checked and is holding a charge just fine. WE have checked everything on it that we can think of and we can not figure out why it won't start. Last Saturday I rode it about 8 miles, made a short stop got back on and it woulndn't even turn over. Absolutely nothing. The head light is acting up too. We were able to push start it and continued to drive it all day. A couple of times when we turned the key on we noticed that the head light wasn't working but then it would mysteriuously come back on. Any suggestions of what we could check???

If it runs fine once you get it started (bump or boost) then the battery is dieing or dead. Just because it holds a charge doesn't mean it's good.
Replace the battery with a known good one and see what happens.

Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
