Scooter stolen...what now?

If you can, may not be a bad idea posting a sign asking for information, maybe even offer $100 if the information leads to the return of your bike or something. Middle of the day, I'm sure someone saw it get lifted.

If you ride a light bike / scooter, disk locks and steering locks, just simply aren't good enough. It takes 20 seconds to just pick your vehicle up and drop it on the back of a pickup/van

You're only big defenses are alarms, and bloody big chains with something to chain it to. (those 3 foot high posts don't count, you can lift a scooter chained to one, right over the top)

You'd rather wait 2 hours for a ride than walk 3 miles home? I had to drop off a truck at the shop last week and it's a little more than 4 miles away. The walk was great! A little exercise won't kill ya.

I'm really sorry to hear about the theft, man. So you had it financed? Didn't the bank make you have full coverage for it? I can't imagine making payments on a stolen bike. Damn.

Hey telefunkin, I can top that story. Last summer I rode to Calgary and stayed overnight in a hotel with my wife. In the morning I was taking off to Sicamous, BC to visit my parents. I got a perfect parking spot under a light and in plain view of the room, and I was constantly looking out to see that the bike was still there. I was pretty paranoid about it. I probably looked out there a hundred times that night.

Imagine my horror when I walked up in the morning and found the key dangling from the rear seat lock. I just stood there staring at it until my wife finally said "what's wrong?". I mumbled something and nonchalantly grabbed the key. I never did tell her.

Haven't done it since though, in fact, I pretty much have OCD about that damn key.

I just bought a scooter 9 days ago and it was stolen yesterday outside the store where i work. The handlebars were locked and it was stolen in broad daylight on a saturday.

I filed a police report and now i'm on to the next step which is....i don't know. I had no insurance on it and i'm not sure what to do now. I'm i just screwed? Should i talk to the dealership and see if i can get credit or call pawn shops to see if it was hocked?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Maybe the fat chick took it. I hope she finds it oh so awesome.

yeah scooters are so lightweight that they are easy targets. Unfortunately, Its probably all chopped up and the parts are going to various buyers and such


i hope it wasn't an expensive scooter

Here in KC there is a video of 2 people pushing a 65 year old woman off her scooter, punching her to the ground and taking her scooter.

You can be happy that wasn't you, I guess.

Hi mate. I feel for you, I have had 2 scooters stolen and am on my third now. There is nothing more depressing than the empty space where your bike used to be. My last one had an alarm and a disc lock and they still took it.

I have put a GPS tracker in my new bike. I am in the UK and got it from gpstrackthis.com. Probably you can get one where you are. I think Acumen sell them. I have seen them on EBay too. It wont stop them stealing it but you can see where they take it if they do and maybe catch them.
