goin' to Kentucky

#1 Unread post by Loonette »

Thought I'd post this here, in case it's not noticed in the Meetup forum...

It's sort of last minute folks, but tomorrow ( Sunday, 05/29), I'll be taking a little ride from Yellow Springs, OH down Route 68 until I cross the river into Maysville, KY. If anyone along the way wants to ride along or meetup, just let me know. Later!

Cheers,
Loonette

Just a day trip. It'll take me about 2 1/2 hours each way.

Cheers,

Well it was a great ride. AND my little 'ole 1600 bike turned 1600 miles old at the beginning of the ride. The ride took just about 2 hours (one way that is), and I added a total of 250 miles to the bike. What a blast. And on the way home I had one of my favorite bike experiences - riding northbound at sunset, watching the sun set to my left, and then looking to my right to watch my bike's and my shadows riding along.

Cheers,
Loonette

Loonette:

I really want to take a trip into SE Ohio sometime. The Wayne is suppose to be a great place to ride through. I've had my Vulcan a week yesterday. Took it to the dealer in Zanesville with a rattle. Turns out with all of 500 miles on it, the chain has play of about 4" where 1-1.4 is the norm. Now I'm trying to loosen the axle nut. That is on tight!

Anyway, other than the chain thing, I love it. My next bike with be shaft driven for sure.

if you get a chance to come to se ohio, stop in and see us in Ironton...we are having our second Rally on the River August 18-21. the entire city got into it last year and we are expecting a bigger turnout this year...had about 4600 cycles in town last year. plenty of country roads to ride and the ride from yellow springs, 68 to 52 is a favorite of mine going to Indian lake...
