New Rider... Hi

#1 Unread post by MikeLadner »

Hey all. I'm 27/m, I was thinking about a bike for a year or so, then decided I didn't want one.

Then one day I came across a 2004 Victory Vegas and had to have it.

Now, keep in mind, I had never been on a bike in my life...

So far so good. I am signed up for a safety class, just waiting for the date and time to be announced.

So far I'm dropped it 4 times. Once in wet grass in my yard, once in my muddy drive way, and two times in gravel. :?

On the road I'm doing good (knock on wood), though I don't get to ride as much as I would like. 185 miles so far.

Well, just wanted to say hi!

hey welcome man, i have some advice, im a newbie myself. yet ive been on bikes for a while before i got my first accual street legal bike.
... its great fun, but try to stay off WET GRASS, ROADS THAT HOLD PUDDLE'S, AND GRAVEL its unpredicable- thats a no no. your safety class will go over this and teach you how to handle these situations.
... but in the long run you should know now what you did wrong those times you've dropped the bike, and learn what not to do nest time.
... dont be discouraged... you dont know what you are missing if its in your nature to ride.
... it feels great...

Hiya, Mike! Welcome! I'm new to this forum as well. I took a 10 year hiatus from riding, so I feel very much like a newbie on my bikes! Learn lots at the MSF course, and we hope to see some pics of your ride! :D

Keep your bike away from anything that landscapers use.....
