Lowering a bike / $$$

#1 Unread post by chase87 »

Hey, I was wondering exactly how much i can lower my bike. i'm pretty short at just 5'6. I wanted to buy an 07 r6. ground clearance at 5.1"

how much would i be able to lower it before it started to get ridiculous and be dangerous/take a lot away from performance?

You can drop it about an inch. You're looking at.. $80 for new dogbones, plus a couple hours to install them then drop the forks through the triples.

Why the R6 if you don't mind me asking?
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

about an inch...damn =\ i guess i'd be really pushing it if i tried to go for say 1.5 - 2? not sure if it helps much, but i don't plan on going to the track with this bike.

sorry for the questions that seem pretty obvious, but as you can probably tell im pretty new bikes =D

and not too sure why. i've wanted an r6 for the past few years now. i'm interested in a 600...any other bikes you'd suggest me taking a look at?

Have you checked the stickies in the New Riders Forum? No offense, but you come across like a 19 year old who has never ridden. An R6 might not be the best choice.
