I was gonna let it slide, but I'll back you up on this one.
Well, his beard does age him a bit, but he's only 67 years old. He was supposed to retire a couple of years ago (county road worker), but due to some serious debt issues, he's been working the past two years hauling gravel. He rides his bike every day to the loading site in Jackson, Michigan - about 45 miles each way. And he puts in 12-hour days including Saturdays.

Then he has all these bizarre projects, like... he's building a hot rod using a Model T body/frame with a Geo Metro engine. Yes, that's right. Another one... he attached an old wooden camping trailer to the side of his garage and turned it into a sauna. The list goes on and on.

He's a cool old dude - wish I had known him earlier, but we enjoy the time we spend together now. Learning about his oddities helps to explain some of my own!!

Cheers,
Loonette

No, no - I'm the first to admit that I'm an absolute oddball. When I first met my dad, we were sitting in my living room having coffee and getting acquainted, when all of a sudden his wife started to giggle. We both looked at her, and she said that she had already picked up on at least 10 mannerisms that we held in common. It's fun. I had a terrible relationship with my "first" dad, and I always had wished that anyone else could be my dad. Well, my wish came true. It's been an interesting study in Nature vs. Nurture. While I have some traits that I picked up from living with my first dad, I also have many traits that seem to just be there naturally from my bio dad.

Sorry for the tangent...

Cheers,
Loonette
