What's with the pop ups?

#1 Unread post by gsus »

I'm fairly new here... but everytime I come to this website, the second I click anywhere for the first time, I get two pop up windows. At first I thought it was just my computer at work, but it also happens here at work? is there something wrong with the website? Or is this just something that needs to happen everytime I come to this website? Sorry for the newb question, but it's annoying.

First off, Welcome to the site.

about the pop-ups:

The popups are here in order to help pay for the site. Mike (the site admin) has been working very hard to reduce the number of pop-ups/unders in order to please the (very large) population of the site. The various ads as well as donations to the site are what keep it running and paying Mike's bills.

something that you're going to have to live with for now, unfortunately.

Thanks for the welcome :)

Well I guess the site owner needs to do what he needs to do to pay for this site. I will definately look into ad blocker plus.

I turned off AdBlock and popup blocking for this site.

This site is such a valuable resource that has saved me so much money it's the absolute least I can do for Mike.

I certainly don't feel bad about blocking ads on Myspace or CNN or whatever. But I would feel pretty bad about blocking them here.

The pop ups are what currently pay Mike's wages. If you block them, it takes money out of his pocket. Mike has the best M/C site on the web, letting a few pop ups get by on this site is well worth it. This website is Mike's full time and only job...
