New/old Bike

First off, this is my first post, I've been lurking around for a bit, but figured I'd hold off on posting til I i knew more.

Im a New rider and in August I'm going to be taking the MSF course, I'm as excited as hell!! My Fiance in her wise way told me that if I wanted to ride, I had to pass the MSF course....This is after I crashed my uncles bike and was on disability leave for 6 weeks ! Learned my lesson real quick and hard

I recently bought a 1981 550 Yamaha Maxim, its my first bike, and it runs great! My question is, I've scoured the online and have yet to find any good info on this bike. Does anyone know where to find info...Or better yet has anyone ever owned this bike? Any knowledge would be great. Thanks

If it's anything like the 400 maxim, you will be able to ride the "poo poo" out of it with minimal maintenance.
