How to adjust idle fuel mixture screws?

On my 1993 Suzuki Kraptana my my idle is very rough. After 20 minutes of riding when its real warmed up it will slowly idle iteself down until it stalls. It seems I need to adjust the idle fuel mixture screws on the bottom of the carbs next to the float bowls, but Im not sure how to fine tune this. I got a Haynes manual that tells me I need a dealership to use their "exhaust gas analyzer" to tune these because it deals with emmisions. um, no.

I know its these because the way its running and because I've already: Replaced the battery, replaced the coils + wires + plugs, tested the charging + ignition sys. at my shop, cleaned the carbs, set the float heights according to Haynes, and I can't remember what else. I know I still need to sync them but thats next week.

Any advice would be appreciated

When was the last time u=you adjusted the valves? THe air fuel screw should be on the outside of the carbs at the topIf you have cv carbs.Adjust one for the highest idle and then move to the next one.Have you tried setting your idle adjustment screw?For all the answers go to www.thegsresources.com

thanks tim...i'll try that tomorrow at work. that method of setting the idle fuel adjustment sounds good. As far what kind of carbs they are and the needles....im not sure what "cv" carbs are as im no expert, but the only needles I see are the screws that are on the bottom and run parellel to the float bowls. They've definatly been messed with by previous owners judging by the condition of screw heads.

Ok you need to moove the needles in the slides up or down I had the same prob with my 90 GSX 600 Katana. The air mixture screws shoud be fixed unless some stupid "O Ring" drilled the caps to get to the adjustors.

insaneman, I dont have any caps over the adjustment screws, it seems they have been removed and I can also see someone has adjusted the screws before. Also Im not sure what you mean by moving the needles up and down in the slides....if you mean what I think you mean that would involve adding/removing spacers the raise/lower the needles and that would involve dissassembly so I would imagine it would be near impossible to fine tune the idle like that. Maybe I misunderstood?
