i have reached that point in my life where the rockets are way too small and i am ready to buy my first big boy bike i am having a a hard time finding a bike my knees dont smash handlebars or stick above the tank, i have gone as far as having padding taken out of seats and foward controls but i still cant find a bike that fits me well, any suggestions, i am willing to travel to find the right bike for me by the way i am 6'8 300lbs
no i have not completely abandoned the dual sport bikes but i would like something me and my wife can be comfortable on a 3 or 4 day ride cross country the dual sports would be great but i am hoping to find a large cruiser with out spending 50 grand for something custom
6'8"? damn that's got me beat by a good 5 inches. If you aren't into cruisers, then try a standard. My '85 Saber is a good fit for tall buggers such as us.
6'2" Here and if you install forward controls on a Volusia it should fit you pretty darn well... A friend of mine has a Dyna Wide Glide, with forward controls installed, he's 6'5" with a long inseam and that seems to fit him well! Also, if you're looking at dualsports/sport touring, check out the V-Strom, VERY tall bike relatively, and very comfortable, and the Tiger 1050 might suit you well too, both are fairly tall and comfy, and the Tiger came in top of it's class this year!
