Not a show that I wanted in any way, shape, or form. She did have her sweater pulled around, which saved me a bit of embarrassment. I'm rather pissed that she couldn't walk another 50 yards to the womens lounge, she just made herself at home in a waiting area. Speaking of home, why couldn't she do it there? Do they explode if not emptied regularly or something?

Yes, they do explode. Well - not really explode, but they become engorged, extremely painful, and will start to leak out. Infants/very young babies eat every two hours, and the amount of milk produced is based on the demand. Thus, if the breasts are being utilized every two hours by the baby, then even in the absence of the baby, the breasts will still work up that milk within two hours. It's quite amazing - us mammals!!

Apparently she didn't expect anyone to enter, but what were you embarrassed about? Do you blush watching a cow get her utters pumped by a milking machine? Sounds like you've got some weird sexual hangup - it's just a breast. I can understand someone being a bit startled simply because it's not something you would expect to see coming through the door, but you seem unreasonably angry about the whole thing.

And by women's "lounge" do you mean the bathroom? If so - yuck! Toilet rooms are for eliminating human waste, not for expressing human food. If it was an actual lounge with a couch, TV, stereo, and wet bar, then I personally would have chosen that location if it were me. For myself, I quit pumping my breasts after the first few attempts - it didn't work well for me. And I also had the flexibility in my life where I could just get the baby to me instead (including during an employee meeting that I had to attend). But nobody with whom I worked ever cared about me breastfeeding my child in their presence - in fact, they seemed to enjoy it. (?!)

Thank you for posting this. It seems a lot of education is needed.

I agree. I find it very sad when a man only thinks of his genitals upon the viewing of a breastfeeding woman. The act of breastfeeding has partook for centuries out in public. Now, of course, with all the sex craving perverts and self righteous holier than thou Christians, it has become a sexual innuendo or a sin to breast feed a child in public.

I'd also like to know why some think it's a disgusting sight. The natural functions of the human body, as well as the animal world, is a phenomenal sight. To view a woman breastfeeding her child is not a hideous sight by any means, but more of an astonishing bond and natural act to provide a child a better path of a healthy life. Some people just need to grow up.

In America, it's more acceptable to expose our kids to outrageous violence than a simple female breast.

This really astounds me. The lack of sexual education, the promotion of abstinence, and the demonizing of the human body as a bad and dirty thing has led to a nation of people who are uncomfortable with breast feeding.

Never could understand why people in North America freak out over the sight of a woman breast feeding her kid or using a pump to store excess milk in public. Then again, I never understood why people freak over human nudity to begin with.

Seem's only the human animal is ashamed of his/her natural state, nude or of their bodily functions.

lol Ignorant - tread lightly. I am a woman. I intend to breastfeed. I was breast fed. Have plenty of friends that breastfeed their babies - in front of me no less, in their homes. I am a health major. I'm pretty sure "ignorant" is a term that I am not.

"Do her thing" is pretty much short and sweet phrase I use for any activity.

Loonette, don't get offended. Seems you're really in a groove about it all. Stop reading into the words I type - this is the internet. You don't know me or my tone. But I guarantee you, I'm not against anything you are saying. So please, relax. I NEVER said women shouldn't breastfeed. Do not put words in my mouth. You are incorrect about that. If a woman does need to feed the baby when she's out, it's pretty considerate to go to a more private area - whether you expect someone to walk into an office foyer or not. For example, when out with friends with babies, it's easiest to walk into a clothing store and go sit in a dressing room stall. As per original post, they mom could have gone into the more private women's area.

Nudity. That's a pretty complex thing as far as the psychology goes - factors such as how one was raised, their life experiences with sexuality, religion, all that plays a role. I highly doubt any one of those conversations/threads would go well. So, probably best not to even go there.

Just to clarify a little..... I never meant I would be disgusted by the sight, just that I would look.... long and hard. Food, babies.... that's got nothing to do with it for me. I'm staring at titts, plain and simple, and what condition they are in means nothing, you pop them sweater meats out anyplace I can see 'em, and I'm looking.

Hell, if they bounce nicely, I'll slip you a buck. If you can get them spinning in opposite directions, I'll lay a 10 on ya. this ought to get me some mail....

Funny thing is, I'm not even a breast man. I dig long legs and nice bums. But I still won't pass up a pair of watermellons.

Hmmm, amazing what I've learned about myself. Apparently I have some sort of deep-seated mommy issues.

I saw no breast, as I stated. I'm upset that this woman put me in a position of compromise through her choice of a non-private area to preform a, in my opinion, very private procedure. In todays litigious society this incident could have the potential to put me out of a job, if she were to decide that I took to long to figure out what was going on and get out.

I was upset because this is my place of work. She is an employee here. The womens employee lounge does, in fact, include chairs, table, lockers, etc. It includes a restroom, in a separate room. It is a clean, private, women-only area that would have been much more appropriate.
