Good buy?

#1 Unread post by acritzer »

My good friends brother is selling a 99 v-star 650. It's got 6300 miles on it. He'll give it to me for 2K. Good idea? Not sure if I can get over the bad talk regarding these 650's.

A v Star is a cruiser and its power delivery is milder than the 600 SS...I think it should be fine. It is geared for low end torue rather than high end power. It's an OK deal. Make sure it is in good shape.

A v-star 650 has MUCH less horsepower than the 650s that we tend to call "Grey Area" bikes. That's a V-Twin cruiser, the ones we're talking about are Standard/Sport bikes. That's a good beginner bike, around 40 horse IIRC. And yeah, that's a good deal, I'd go for it!
