First Bike!

#1 Unread post by TheOneAndOnly »

Hi everyone! Long time reader, first time poster!

After many months of convincing my parents to allow me to buy a bike (I'm 17) and then ruining my summer vacation by working 45+ hours a week to save for the bike, I am now a proud owner of a 1983 Yamaha Virago 500!

I must say, although I can't ride her yet, just sitting on her is quite the feeling!

Thats awsome man... I just can't get enough of the good looks of those early 80s metric bikes!!

Are those saddle bags I see on the ground? I gotta get me some of those. And.. is that an aftermarket seat?

Yea, I love the look of her too!

And yeah! She came with saddle bags and a windscreen! I don't know about the seat, though

Congrats! It is one looking bike. My first bike was an '83 Honda CX650C V Twin and it was fun and good looking. Yours looks even better. Make sure to save up and get proper gear (i.e. not used helmet) and MSF course. There are plenty of great deals online for gear (check this helmet out! http://www.bing.com/jsp/product_c ... 103&mmyId=)
Good luck!
