There are times when the back brake can be very useful, so I use it. As far as I can see you need to use whatever resources you have got. It's good for controlling slow speed riding; it's also good in corners when you are travelling at relatively low speeds - so long as it is applied gently and progressively. I've used the front too in corners. Same applies. At faster speeds you just have to lean and countersteer your way round.

I've never had a problem with engine braking. I use it all the time. It takes more forward planning and good judgement, but that's no bad thing, I think. It sharpens your awareness and skill levels. Both my bikes have very good engine braking, which makes it easier to use, of course. I'm not sure how it would work on a four as I've never owned one.

Don't mind the bike nudity... the bodywork is in for repairs ;)
Mr. Moderator!!!!! Mr. Moderator!!!!! I want to make a complaint. I am shocked I tell you, shocked beyond belief. Since when do you allow links to Motorcycle pornography and nudity here? For shame, for shame, I demand you do something about this naughtiness immediately.
Always ask why.
