Yup. That's SO me. Got in the habit on my old bike. Now, even though my current ride has self-cancelling signals, I STILL hit the cancel button as I upshift from a turn, out of habit.

Thats a problem with those foreign bikes My Honda and BMW stayon. My Harley turn sigs turn off themselves (spring loaded switch) So as a result I ride with blinkers on quite a lot.

+1! Except I try and cancel by pressing the radio buttons on my steering wheel with my thumb. Also try and honk with my thumb on those radio buttons. So confusing.
