A wood rasp, gently and evenly applied against a rotating tire in first or second gear while the bike is on the centerstand is considered the best way to safely eliminate chicken strips if you just have to do it.
The exact technique was in one of the mainstream US rags some years ago.

Hmmmm, I don't seem to have any. :humm: :naughty: That is my favorite part of the ride though, getting down in the turns.
