i just recently added a memphis hellcat 18" shield to my cruiser. needless to say i shouldve gotten a memphis fats 19 or 21 at least. im in the midst of trying to return the hellcat to the vendor but was curious what your height and size windshield is if it applies to you. keeping in mind that alot of bikes are different of course i just wanted to get a feel.

im 6' and think i should be ok with a 21" memphis fats. i def. dont want to have to look through the shield, just want it to the bridge of the nose. any feedback appreciated.

It's possible that your windshield wasn't properly adjusted. It seems that a windshield that tall should be able to at least push the wind up above your head.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Even though you find the shield a mite short, you should still derive substantial benefit from it. I think you have the right idea. In my opinion a windshieled should be adjusted so that you can look over it, or duck slightly and look through it depending on conditions.

The biggest benefit is the blocking of the wind from the body, in my opinion, so that your arms don't feel as if they stretched 6" on that last one hundred miles of riding.

2004 Suzuki SV650 (no S). Windshields suck the life out of me. How are you gonna get bugs on your face with a windshield?

I am 6'1 and have a 19" Memphis SHades and it does pretty good. Still get a few bugs in the face but keeps the bulk of the wind off your chest for long trips. A 21" would be better if you want alot of protection. That's what is on my dads bike and I can still just see over the top.
