what bike to buy?

Hey guys, I am 17 years old and have been looking at buying a bike for a while now. I have my license and went through the MSF ridercourse in my area. I am 6'2" tall and weigh 185. I want a bike that is sporty, but not overtly uncomfterable or hard to ride. I also want somthing that is reasonably priced, and reasonably easy to maintain. Somthing around 500cc's would be nice as well. You guys have any suggestians for someone my size? any help would be appreciated.

im pretty much the same size as you. i got a '82 xj550 yamaha. first i only paid 500 bucks for it so that was sweet. i spent about 100-200 on little stuff like gaskets and turn signals(i dropped it when i went to look at it). ive spent that much easily on gear...not to mention 200 on a jacket that doesnt fit properly. but everyone tells me my bike and japanese bikes of the same ilk have "bullitproof" reliablity. so yeah thats my advice.
