Your post is just acting like the only way to be nice is to agree with everything. I think you can be helpful and friendly without mentioning life insurance, are calling someone a squid, or being highly sarcastic.

And since i am just beggining my freshman year in college...i want to live for a bit longer
Ill prolly beg my parents to get me 2008 Ninja250r, which looks sweet and is something that wont kill me

Very happy to hear your made this decision! It's a great bike with a lot of kick you won't be disappointed. If after a season or two you feel it's not enough you can always upgrade the 250 is very easy to sell as there are a lot of other beginner bikers looking to get on it!

Good decision but remember you can get a cheap, used Ninja 250/500 or a GS500 for under $2k a lot of the time. That way you don't have to beg your parents.

Smart move, but just don't cheap out on your gear and do take a riding course, even old farts like me take refreshers just to polish up our skills and learn some new tricks of the trade.

Hahaha. Completely off topic, but... there is something to be said for 'pride of ownership'. My parents gave me my first 3 cars... one died on its own, but I managed to total the other two in less than a year.

They made my buy my next car (a new, at the time, 1998 Toyota Tacoma). I'm still driving it nearly 10 years later...

Of course, having just said that, I'll probably crash it today...

Maybe this is a new thread, 'Pride of Ownership'.

There is something good about driving an underpowered car that needs work often, to let you learn about mechanicals, mechanics, costs, and power.

It was mentioned previously about 'chicken strips', I think it was Kal who drops off sportbikers in the twisties. It rang true to back when I'd do the trip through the Fraser Canyon of BC, Canada in my 87 Civic, losing Ford F-350's in the corners, but not even having a chance in the passing lanes.

I'm not sure I want to subject myself to even more years of this kind of sacrifice though. Maybe it's like artists? The best ones must suffer?

I am attending Pre-med major in Boston University.

And no my parents are not adopting, they are actually thinking of getting rid of kids they already have

Ohh and one more thing how much will one sided insurance will cost for me, all i need is the most basic coverage.
