I'm fine with riding a cruiser and wearing a helmet with a design. Next one I get will be solid though - it's more visible and doesn't blend in as much as the one with a design on it. Any pattern is not that different from a camouflage, really... But that has nothing to do with ridding a cruiser of course.

I think that it doesn't really matter what your helmet looks like so long as you're wearing it ;).

I think however that you should at least pretend to try to coordinate. Don't wear a purple helmet and a green jacket ;)
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Actually if you want to be more visible, that doesn't sound like a bad idea.

I have a solid color, and used it when I was riding my savage. But as the weather is turning sour, I'm thinking about buying one with a design for better visibility. Of course now I ride a standard, so I guess that doesn't help.

I say it depends if you plan to be riding cruisers all your life, or the amount of riding you do. Being a little more visible won't hurt if you ride a lot.

Sev, thats kind of what happened with me... got the gear before the bike... blue gear, red bike... trying to swap out now...

Aragorn, that the exact helmet I am looking at now... newenough.com has them on clearance for $70!! but I might have to go with the silver and not the red... i think its a little brighter red than my bike...

they do have the solid ones though for only $85... sooo, how much of a tightwad do I want to be...

my helmet is flat black. my bike has flames on it - i think it would look odd to have a design on the helmet with flames on the bike. and it would be twice as bad if the helmet had flames on it as well.

On my black and white Volusia I wore a EXO-400 with the tribal design in grey and white. Looked good apparently. (Couldn't see myself riding the bike... lol)
