You mean the crappy ones that do not turn themselves off that BMW seems to keep using? You think a bike that is 21st century in other respects would have blinkers that turn off, I mean Harley had them almost 50 years ago.

That's the bike I need to get. I wonder if they will be available here for next year?

Hopefully the alternator output is on par with the 650GS's output (400W), and that aftermarket parts will be available for it (pannier racks, skidplate, engine guards, etc...)

Gadjet needs a new set of wheels for touring/endurance rallies.

That is strange - mine (on a 1200GS) DO turn off automatically - although I do have to admit that I had been riding it for about 2 years before I found that out from a forum; In fact after many, many years of motorcycling you should have an automatic reflex to cancel your indicators yourself as soon as they no longer indicate anything!

Most of my early riding was on bikes that just had the legal eq. (no blinkers) Then as I got older the only bikes I was around were Harleys. (spring loaded switches---self canceling) In 95 when I got my first BMW it seemed strange that a bike that was light years ahead of Harley in most areas still had non canceling blinkers..............that and the low output electrical systems that were on Airheads.

There are photographs (not drawings) on the net now showing the new 800GS fitted with top box, panniers, engine guards etc; - there will be plenty more very soon I am sure, as it seems the bike will be 'unveiled' at the Milan show; plenty on this subject on the Britsih GS site : www.ukgser.com
