My 1992 750 Nighthawk is chain drive and didn't come with a center stand. I use a spray lube......just move the bike forward about 2 feet at a time for 10 feet.....each time spray the rear chain and sproket.....it's not needed to get every link...After you ride, the oil will be distributed on the entire chain...........

Get the centerstand. Makes lubing a 30 second job and you don't get excess lube slung around. You can still get the OEM centerstand if you look around the net. Part number is 50600-MW3-810.

or just go to pep boys fork over $30 after rebate for a motorcycle stand. I bought one and I dont know what I will ever do without one.

my chain has 2 bolts for adjustment (one on each side of the tire frame).
You are right. It's been 20 years since I had to mess with a chain.
