I like the flashing brake light, it's certainly more effective to warn others behind you. Pretty expensive if you have dual bulbs like me....guess I have to live with doing it manually.

sounds good to me ;) alot of people dont like my tireflies, say it distracts people. but after being hit from the side(where your most invisible) i like all the help i can to be seen from the side.

they have all sorts of stuff. but i have the regular tireflys, they are just an LED run off 3 watch batteries. they turn on when moved and creat a solid neon light effect around your rim when riding. looks cool and very visible. just have to be careful what color you get, some are legal in some places some arent.

This might sound stupid but how much do the tireflys weigh? I know that some of the heavier machined and billet plugs can create excessive force on the fillerspot where it attaches to the tire during acceleration and deceleration. This can cause it to break off. That's part of the reason those end caps that tell your tire pressure aren't as popular as they should be. They weigh to much and can ruin a good tire.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

really they are ultra light, i cant even guess how light they are. just hold 3 watch batteries in your hand and thats about how heavy the whole tirefly is. im sure a chrome style cover would out weigh them easy.

after looking at the site im thinking of adding some LED accent lights behind my plastics to creat a glow coming from the engine ; )

Since my bike is red, I think thats the color I would like.

Also, are they on all the time? Is there a way to only have them turn on at night? How long do the batteries last?

I have seen the headlight modulator on a bike, and it gets your attention from a long way off. I like it. Ive seen the brake light modulators, too, and also like them. As a professional truck driver, I'm all for making bikes more visible from above, and these two things accomplish that. As for hitting anyone from behind, It's generally considered the following drivers fault in all 50 states, regardless of the equipment on the vehicle in front, unless they back onto the highway. I've seen all manner of flashing light malfunctions in 30 years of driving and haven't hit any of them yet, at any speed. :roll: 8)
