A Toyuzu ride report...

#1 Unread post by Toyuzu »

Most of you can probably relate to this - Lately I've been way too busy, and my riding has been limited. But on Saturday, I had a ride planned. It was a perfect ride, with just a couple of good friends. One of them came from 3 and 1/2 hours away. Gary has ridden here before, and fell in love with the roads here. Will is the seasoned rider, and knows the area the best, so he led the way.

I rode my Yamaha FJ 600, Gary was on his Suzuki DL 1000 V-Strom, and Will was relegated to a friend's Triumph TT 600 after some electrical woes with his CBR 900 RR.

Here are some pics from the day: click on the thumbnail for a larger version.

The clouds were gorgeous today.

We tried some action shots, and they came out pretty good. Here's Will on the TT 600:

And me on my FJ 600:

This is one of Gary taken while on the go:

Thes last two shots are Gary's. Thanks Gary!

Another shot of the bikes:

Will had to take off after lunch, but Gary and I rode the rest of the day. Here's the bikes at the north end of the "Little Dragon", a twisty section of Highway 49. I dunno who that strange guy standing next to my bike is.. :whistling:

What a sweet day for a ride! Hope you all got a chance to ride this weekend, too. 8)

My favorite is your bike backlit. Simply beautiful!
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Matt, I like the riding shots of you and the bike! This is the first I've gotten a good look at the stance, and the bike profile in motion. Looks very comfortable, and just aggressive enough to be a blast! I personally think comfort is a huge player for all of us "amateurs" out here. I think a comfortable, upright amateur will outride a cramped-up contorted poser anytime. Looks like yours is a great mix of the standard and sportbike positions. Nice photos.
Ride safe...God bless!

I agree. The FJ does tend to be a bit buzzy, true to magazine articles of the day. I find that taking a break every two hours or so eliminates any discomfort caused by it though. The seat gets a bit uncomfortable also, but only after a long day. I've done a number of full day rides now, and overall I'm very happy with the bike. 4K miles and counting since I bought it. 8)

New member here... Matt's riding bud, Gary. Well, I had a heck of a good time swapping bikes with Matt and running the FJ up and down the hills. My first time on a sport bike, and it was a rush! That FJ rocks!!

Matt, great pix, great ride, great hospitality taking me in for Friday night! Those local roads are soooo cool, one and all! Thanks again for being such an awesome host and ride buddy!

I know Bubusa tools around these boards once in a while. I've seen his name come up. It's nice to see new/old faces though.
