I'm pretty sure the pic I posted is the production version. Here is a night shot, not as much contrast, of the UK version.JC Viper wrote:I like the look of the bike and the engine isn't too small.
I just hope they keep the design of the concept bike for the release version. Suzuki took the cool looking tail light out of their concept B-King for a weaker one.
I'm pretty sure it's coming to the US.

I rather like the looks. Would seriously consider it. The CVT would be great for touring, especially in the mountains. Considering that high performance snowmobiles have been using CVT for decades, no problem I can see with me taking advantage of its abilities. CVT would be an even greater boon in heavy traffic.

love the look...not near as sure about the cvt, but I definately would not want it in the mountains...unless i sold brake pads.
Dyin'? Boy, he can have this little life any time he wants to. Do ya hear that? Are ya hearin' it? Come on. You're welcome to it, ol' timer. Let me know you're up there. Come on. Love me, hate me, kill me, anything. Just let me know it.

This unit has a hydraulic CVT, which allows for engine braking.KingRobb wrote:love the look...not near as sure about the cvt, but I definately would not want it in the mountains...unless i sold brake pads.
It also will give you the option of selecting "manual" so that you can shift through six gears with a paddle shifter.

I thought that CVT would suck, never wanted to own one, and couldn't understand the appeal. Then I rode a quad equipt with CVT.....and it kicks "O Ring" in the hills. For my streetbike I still love a manual clutch but CVT does work much better than you could ever imagine. Don't knock it until you try it.

* The Aprilia 850 Mana will be available in the USA for 2008. Color options are red or gray, no msrp yet, depending on who you ask it will be here may-june or october-november. The Mana has front storage for a full-face helmet and uses an electronically controlled belt-CVT with final-reduction chain drive.Veda wrote:I don't care for the looks of the Honda, but I would totally check out the Aprilla Mana if it came stateside.
* The Honda DN-01 will be available in the UK february-march 08 and the dealers are already taking deposits. No word on USA availability; some say 2009, some say 2010, and some say Honda-USA doesn't want it.
Here is the E-Brochure:

I prefer the shorter wheelbase, lighter weight, and greater horsepower of the Aprilia Mana - but I love the styling of the DN-01 and am intrigued by the hydraulic transmission. If the DN-01 were available in the USA I would buy it for the wild styling and superior transmission.
