flat battery

#1 Unread post by rednaxela »

i use my rs50 to get to school and am curremtly doing my exams. i was about to leave school today. with all my mates on their shitty little peds. theres me on my sexy bike thinkin yea look at me on my bike when i realise it won't start. all my mates laugh at me saying our scooters start first time. which was a good point. i spent a lot of money buying a brand new rs50 so i wouldn't have the trouble of having to deal with a second hand one with problems. but there i was on the bike which was brand new and not starting. evcentually we managed to bump start it ( after about 1 hour of working out what to do.) and it works ok now but what was the problem.??
cheers

Was it really cold outside? My friend's bike will not start in the cold.

I wonder...
Does your rs50 have a locking ignition that also has parking lights on it??? I did that to my first bike way back in the 70's. Locked the ignition, then kept turning that key until the tail-lights came on. (I couldn't tell, it was a bright sunny afternoon.) Then I got off work and had a dead battery. Learned my lesson the first time, and luckily have never repeated the performance...
