i agree with you about to each his own
what i dont agree with buells statement that they own the corners and they are the most technically advanced motorcycles in the world.


if you make statements like that your just asking for it.(buell) id be willing to challenge any buell through the canyons on my 90 fzr 400 :twisted:

Buell is a weird little bike company. It's just hard to tell where they are at in the marketplace. The Blast or should I say b-last, sorry Blast owners, I just had to. :) Anyway the Blast should be a good beginner bike. Is it? I don't know. I looked at it but I just coudn't get past the plastic Playskool looks. The other two bikes seem very cool and look decent. There are a few things I would do different but they are not bad. I would love to take one for a test ride but I don't know if I would be an owner. I think my next bike needs to have a little bit of a luggage or at least some options for luggage. There are a lot of good ideas in the Buells but I think overall the package, could be put together a little better.

Is Buell even going to be around next year? Is Harley going to replace the Buell name on the bikes? I am going to ride on one today, and see what I think...I am also going to ride the ninja, intercepter, gsx whatever, and some ducatis. Oh and maybe the KTM super duke...hehehehe.

I think that Eric Buell has a good pressence, and an interesting history. He seems more like the Harely image than most harely riders today, know what I mean? They arent race bikes though, or maybe yet. I kinda like the idea of a Harely GP bike.

How many miles do you guys have on your buells?

Well I never really thought much about Buell...I read your post, then went to buell.com and read about them. I never really liked the way they looked before, but I like the Firebolt. I'm starting to like the XB9R also, but in a different color. I like the way they design their bikes, it's unique. I guess I'd have to test drive one to really know if I'd want it.

Yeah if I get a 9R you can bet it wont be yellow for long

I test drove the 900 and the 1200 Firebolt. The 1200 offers noticeably more power, but the clutch is so stiff that its hard for me to get a smooth start...or operate at speeds under 40 mph. The 900 has a little less power, and a lighter clutch and this was never a problem.

The things practically jump off the ground at idle, and it caused a doubting eyebrow to raise when I saw it. But once I was on the saddle, it was great, the vibrations stay at higher speeds but the sensation seemed to add to the tactile feel of the bike rather than detract from comfort. The transmisssion is horrible! I could not get it into nuetral after minutes of shifitng up and down, and remember that clutch is a bear. They turn extremely well, it might be the best manuvering bike I have ever been on.

The dealer had the 900 at 7,900 and the 1200 at 8,500. But harely throws in a lot of hidden charges like putting gas in the tank, and parking it on the floor, and just spending time with you. Its hard to describe my feeling on that kind of stuff without resorting to profanity. But, still the dealor would let me out the door with tag tax and title (and gas) for under MSRP.

I like to think of it as that satisfying clunk, that tells me I have changed gears :lol: :lol: :lol:

Neutral gets easier to find as the bike breaks in, I only had that problem when the bike was new.

They are just the best manuevering bike out there, (in my opinion anyway
:D )

Maybe check out another dealer, I got a price reduction, as well as some goodies and what I paid for my Blast when I traded it in.

I went 450 km on my Xb9 yesterday through winding mountain roads and loved every minute of it!!!!! Had to go slow on the straight bits to let my husband on his Honda Cruiser catch up. (He didn't like the trail of sparks he was leaving). :shock:

I hope you find your Buell!!!!

If there were more corners to ride around where I live....

I'd have a go at a Firebolt XB12R!

Yet another bike for my Aircraft Hangar!

It looks to me like when some of the 'Harley Bashers' run out of Puff, Buell could be the next best thing for them to crucify.
