God bless politicians
Sometime last year I saw a news report where a local politican went with police and a camera crew to point out all the speeding sportsbikes......and had a horrible feeling about it.
Yep!
Proposed Florida Bill targets motorcycle riders
This guy wants to take away the motorcycle and in some cases the riders license. Not saying speeding or stunting right by any means, but lets at least have a level playing field treating bad cage drivers with the same penalities.
Whats worse....a motorcycle weaving through traffic or a car?

Much fairer and definitely my point......Gummiente wrote:Here in Ontari-ari-o, they recently passed a law that gives the police authourity to impound ANY vehicle caught doing 50kmh+ over the posted speed limit in ANY area.
Thanks

Its kind of a dumb law though. They call it a "Street racing" law. If I'm doing 150 on the QEW, who the hell am I racing? Not that I'm doing 150 on the QEW mind you, just saying. Its a cash grab based on fear mongering. I'm sure the folks who came up with the law never raced or sped or drove drunk, either.

From what we saw you are lucky to get up to the speed limit in parts of Orlando, let alone speed!Mustang wrote:Sometime last year I saw a news report where a local politican went with police and a camera crew to point out all the speeding sportsbikes......and had a horrible feeling about it.

Scream equal rights - I'm sure there must be something about all men being treated equally that you can use
Do you know a Solicitor with time on their hands? I suspect there is a cracking court case there somewhere...

Strange bill against motorcyclists considering that Miami made the #1 spot on most aggressive drivers list, those more prone to road rage. Maybe there'll only be cars on US roads in the near future since it's always the fault of the cyclist in any accident.

Keep in mind that if bikers weren't popping wheelies in the first place......
I agree that the law should apply equally to cages also.....but.....the excessive speed an stunting that goes on with a certain type of biker wrecks things for the rest of us.
The way to get them to back down on the harsh penalties is to "prove" that riders can be safe and law abiding.
The public highways are not personal race tracks.
That was my rant.
