Planning on going for a ride on the Sooke Highway on Vancouver Island to Port Renfrew with a couple of buds and would like to video it. I got a nice light weight digital camcorder on order, (has a built in 30 gig hard drive) and arrange for my shop to install an A/C plug in on the Sabre, problem is, mounting the camera.
The '85 Sabre is a standard bike and has a rather high standing instrument cluster/panel.

As you can see, mounting the camcorder on the tank is not really an option, so I thinking about mounting on top of the instrument panel, this way it would be out of the way and still get great forward shots. Any one here done this or can recommend a good mounting system? The camcorder I have on order is about L5" x W2" x 3.5" in diametre and weighs maybe 2 to 3 pounds.
