Thats an issue that's hard to choke down. Here in Cannuckistan there is about $4000 difference to choke on when you find out what the dealers will actually sell them for. The Kawi just doesn't move me the same way though....

My biased $0.02...

Go with the Speedy.

My pseudo-boyfriend has one, and that bike is too much fun for words. I literally salivate when I think about that bike's torque... :drool2: He has the blue, which is wicked, but another friend has the white and that is a dayum sexy bike.

Getting my own Speedy is #2 on my bike-purchase list (after I pick up a track bike... and get "the pig" [the 06 Kawi Vulcan] out of my garage...)

Although I like the Speedy, I like the Z1000 almost just as much.

I've had the chance chance to swing a leg over one before, and I really liked it. I hated the seat on the 07, just hated it. That would go for me before the exhaust. But other than that, it is a screamin bike! Very hooligan.

The pickup was excellent, the steering felt quick, even with the 190 rear, and the riding position was comfortable (I just didn't like the seat)

If there was a $4k difference in question, you'd definitely see me on the Z1000 without any regrets.

The speedy does clean up nicely once some of the ugiler factory bits are replaced.

go with the Z1K. You get more bike for the buck.
I own a 2004 Z1k and love it.
