96 Honda VT1100 Opinions/Reviews...Good Price?

#1 Unread post by NJ04SS »

Hey everyone, Haven't posted in awhile. Busy with work and school...it's been crazy with the New year so far...But here goes my first post of the New Year! Found a mint, never dropped red 96 Honda VT1100, I believe it has about 20k miles on it. They want $3500.00 but negotiable. Didn't see the bike yet, but is this a descent deal?

Any input on the VT1100?

Thanks in advance

Kellys Blue Book for Motorcycles® says $2495 to $3650.

click on the link to the kelly blue book site in John's post. It will take you to the site to figure out the price. You will want to look at trade in value to see what the previous owner probably got in trade, and look at retail to see what the average dealer is asking. Then start somewhere in the middle knowing that the dealer needs to make some profit, but not too much.

is 60k a lot for a 96 in that price range? In anyones opinion is it worth to spend more on a newer or at least lower mileage bike?

Can somebody prove that all maintenance was done, correctly, and on time?
So it's what twelve years old and has 60k, which is about 5k a year. I'd want to check the steering head and those bearings, same on the swingarm. I'd replace all the wheel bearings whenever I changed tires next, which would be as soon as possible.
