A question about my exhaust.

#1 Unread post by Beer Runner »

So my bike started making this puffing sound and I removed the exhaust system last night to have a look. I found a crack in the pipe and today it will get fixed. I also plan to paint the pipes in hope to stop any further rust from happening.
The puffing sound only happened when I let go of the throttle, could that have been the crack in the pipe or should I check a different area? once the pipes are back on. The sound it makes is not a backfire, just a puff every few seconds.
Thanks

You might be experiencing lean backfire through the carbs ... this is typically a popping or puffing on decel and sometimes slow accell.

when you get the pipes back on, see if you can tell where the puffing is coming from.
