It must be mid winter.

Every year about this same time lots of people start getting a little testy.

or in my case I am now on my 19th 12 hour work day in a row. Yes I have worked 19 straight days all of them 12 hours. looks like it will end soon though. Might be back to straight 8 hour days on thursday though a day off isnt looking promising without taking vacation time.

Why are you having to work so much?

because we have a new product that had some "issues" that we neede to get corrected before Febuary 22nd. We got it corrected 8 days early so now no more 12 hour days

. now its just 8 hour days. I am a mechanic where I work and so we always need to have someone here no matter what day it is because we are a 24/7 operation. One other reason is we just had a competitor of ours get shut down by the FDA and as such we took on about 70% of their business. My companies profit increased something like 15% over last year.

I say the correct answer is your management team didn't have the correct staffing package in place.

actually our staffing was sent down by the CEO so in a way you are correct. We are actually understaffed by about 6 people in our department. Truth be told, however, I will gladly keep working everyday as I am tired of paying interest to the bank. Plus I work 3rd shift so its easier to work everyday than to take weekends off lol.

*edit I should mention that is 6 people across all 3 shifts. My company employs over 8000 employees world wide 1/2 of which are in Michigan. My department only has about 116 employees total. So whats that tell you lol.

Here in Canada, insurance costs and requirements act as a sort of sanity check when people start thinking of Hayabusa's for their first ride, but it still doesn't stop people with more money than brains. Most people unfortunately find out AFTER they buy the bike that insurance is going to cost them an arm and a leg.

Heck, on my '86 FZ600 most insurance companies would refuse to insure without:
-3 years riding experience
-Theft alarm (car alarm?)

lol and how are they going to prove you have 3 years riding experience lol? They cant. Also most people dont find out till after because they dont RESEARCH beforehand. Your average person just goes out and does on impulse rather than on doing research before.

In Va the insurance company gets your driving record when you buy a policy with them. It shows how long you've had your license.

doesnt show how long you have had what endorsements, however. At least it didnt at one time.
