I've set up a plan with the dietician and will be looking forward to trying to take total control of my health...

Boy, am I ever going to need some help on that front...

Why don't you try out a martial art? The good ones (good teachers) can really improve your health and you'll be surprised at what your body can go through after several sessions.dr_bar wrote:I've been a non-active/paying member of a gym for way too long. Today I made an appointment to see a trainer and start doing something about this waist line and give my heart life line. I've been packing it on these last few years and have only myself to blame, so I went to the same source for a much needed kick in the azz...![]()

+1 on the Martial Arts. I'm in Kenpo, personally, and I gotta say that it definitely does do something for your body when you find the right instructor. I just don't do gyms, I get enough of a workout in the dojo (and by myself on the off days) and heavy weightlifting I've noticed really does nothing for my mobility.JC Viper wrote:Why don't you try out a martial art? I'm in Shao-lin, took Escrima and Wing Chun and when I hit the gym I find myself being able to do more reps and I breathing isn't much of a problem any more. A weird side effect is that when I get hit with something (like a bookshelf falling down on me) I don't feel much pain and I can still move about.
Yeah me too, except they were for dinner.blues2cruise wrote:I had some relative of theirs at lunch.Kibagari wrote:Then they grow up and you eat them and their young.

Thats the part that is tearing me up: It is the start of the riding season here and I have a new ride in the garage. I'll miss my favorite time of the year here but I will be consoling myself with a ride around Mauritius on a 90cc rental scooter in a couple of days! as i read that i'm stuck at workoh well, i'm only here until noon, then i get to go and work on ye olde cl350, and perhaps bomb around the county on the bike a bit. the roads still suck around here, but i don't think i can deny myself or the bike much longer.
