I just lean mine up against the barn or a handy tree. Ha ha. Not really. I turn the forks to the left and put the kick stand down. I live in earthquake country and I don't trust keeping the bike on the center stand, feeling it could topple over in a minor to moderate quake.

Age old question or just an odd one?

Anyway, I've always had the habit of locking the forks to the left (even though on my bike, they can lock on either side). I tried using a level to see which side makes the bike lean farther, but on my bike, it seems to be the same degree of lean whether the forks are locked left or right.
