I took a ride with a guy on a Harley once and he scraped his footboards one everyturn. Sparks flew up around all over the place it was really cool to watch
I remember when I was younger and rollerblading I bought this brake that must of had a piece of flint in it or something. Sucked for stopping but whenever you slowed down sparks would shoot out all over the place and it looked really awesome
I think that'd look awesome on a bike if you came to a stop sparks shot out of your discs somewhere. But then again I seem to be one of the only people that likes the design of the 696 so I guess I'm weird anyway
My buddy had the same thing on his skateboard with flint on it. Every time he stopped or ollied it would spark. But he had no pop with it lol....
I don't know about the disc sparks, but I would totally be down with an exhaust flamethrower... That would look so sweet..... Especialy if you could inject magnesium or something, get coloured flames...
I used to scrape my pegs a lot on the KZ400, especially 2-up. But I have only done it once on my SV. I did catch my foot on a curb once on a really poorly judged and timed right hand turn. Man that hurt somethin fierce, whle trying to still drive the thing....

1. you ride motorcycles you dont drive them
2. I have scraped the exhaust on the right side of my bike so tell me that aint getting low.
3. I have the same problem with right hand turns as well and I came to the same conclusion that skier mentioned.

Ride didn't seem to fit so well, as opposed to drive. Maybe control was the word. But, I don't hit curbs anymore....
I tried putting the balls of my feet on the pegs today... doesn't cooperate well with heeled boots. When I get riding boots again it'll work better since there is no heel.

I think he's talking about comfort maybe? A healed boot is usually pretty inflexible and when your riding on the balls of your foot it feels like you are holding your leg up.
At least that's been my experience with any kind of non-motorcycle motorcycle boot.
Yeah, I mean, they are work boots with an aggressive tread and a steel shank. So they are stiff. And the tread interferes with the peg sliding action to move my foot. I also feel off guard, like standing on my heels in a basketball game. I like having my feet right where i need them. I do the same in a car, I only pivot my right foot on my heel, I don't actually pick my leg up to switch between gas and brake.
So having to move my foot quickly in an emerg situation wouldn't result well, since i'm not at the ready.
