Ditto, congrats on passing!!

What works good for us (my wife and I) is those small orange cones kids use for street hockey - the kind that are only a few inches high. They're bright orange so they're easy to see out of the corner of your eye. They're soft, so it's no big deal if the bike runs right over one - doesn't upset the bike and doesn't damage the cone.RhadamYgg wrote:But I'll say this - I need to practice a lot before I have the same capabilities with a bike that I have in a car. I just want to take a spray paint can and mark up a parking lot with the course and practice on early Sunday mornings.

Don't worry about setting up the course in a parking lot. It's more trouble than it's worth.

With 6 cones you can replicate the lessons taught in the MSF on an individual basis.

Even cheaper...get a bag of tennis balls at WalMart. $7 for the whole bag (a dozen or more balls). Cut them in half, and you have cones that won't break when you run over them.jstark47 wrote: What works good for us (my wife and I) is those small orange cones kids use for street hockey - the kind that are only a few inches high.

They work great. Get some orange spray paint and you have multiple colors, great for weave practice!Thumper wrote:Even cheaper...get a bag of tennis balls at WalMart. $7 for the whole bag (a dozen or more balls). Re: MSF Course today
Actually, unless someone is stupid enough to show up on a bike without the proper escort (provided they have their learners permit) - there is no cause to arrest someone because they have in the past ridden without a license.RhadamYgg wrote:One guy - he's been riding for 10 years without a license! Then it just so happens that one of the coaches is a cop and another person in the class is a cop... But they didn't take him away in cuffs anyway. They probably expect this kind of thing.Kuhnfyoozed wrote:Just got home from my first day at my BRC. I'm really excited for tomorrow, but I have to wake up at about 5:30 to get there on time

we had a guy in class that rode his "Fat Boy" to every class and bragged about it to the instructors and everyone else.I told him he was crazy, being so close to the brass ring and tempting fate like that. But he did'nt care.
The worst part was that he wouldn't shut up about it.
"this little bike sure isn't like riding mt fatboy,I could do this course better on my fat boy, this water would taste better on my fat boy, when I'm on my fatboy I can time travel......"
there is a name for guys like that, $40,000 worth of bike and gear and 2 cents of common sense, but I can't think of it
The worst part was that he wouldn't shut up about it.
