my own decals

#1 Unread post by redcoat »

I need to get or make some decals for a project bike.

Most will be 3/16 or 4mm high and say things like "4 star petrol only", "min oil level" and such. They should exist on a clear or black background, cause they are going on a black bike. The lettering in gold.

I know some are available from the UK, but is it possible to produce them at a print shop, sign shop or somewhere? Any ideas would be really appreciated. It's these stickers that will finish a long dreamed of project.

Many sign shops will custom print and cut decals to order on vinyl. You can buy your own set-up, printer/cutter (about the size and shape of a computer printer) and computer program with some vinyl stock to get started with for $2-5 grand. Then you could make decals for other folks and sell 'em.

definately check out the sign shops (most billboards have the shops name on a tag under the actual billboard ad itself.) Had a buddy that had a set made up for a bicycle and it only ran him 20-30 bucks.

Hopefully I might find some tommorrow at a Brit bike shop. Otherwise it's back to a sign shop. Thanks for the ideas. I'll post some pics soon.

Got some at the brit bike shop for $10, so I couldn't argue with that. Genuine look, peel and stick, no problem.
