Long time reader, first time poster

Okay, second post, I made my first in another forum 2 minutes ago.

Getting back into riding this fall I hope. Waiting to move before I get another bike - BMW K1200GT. In the past I had an '82 Honda V45 Magna and an '01 Harley Sportster 1200. Hoping to do some longer rides on the BMW than I could manage with the Sporty or Honda. I'm sure I'll have more and more questions about gear as fall rolls around and I get the bike. Thanks everyone for your posts and help - learning is occuring.

Been riding for over 10 years now (off and on) and I can't believe how much of this is still new to me, especially the touring stuff.

cheers :hithere:

Welcome back mate! Nothing more awesome then to hear somebody getting back into riding. I've been riding nearly 5 years (consistently) now and you are right, you learn something new all the time, no matter how many years you have under the 'ole belt.

I'm in the states, or as my buddy in England says...the colonies.

My wife and I are moving down the eastern Tennessee later this year. Nestled between the Cumberland and Smokey mountains there is some breathtaking riding. Plus the best way to get out and explore is on a bike.

My chapter went to Star Days this past summer in Chattanooga, TN.
While in tn. they all went and rode The Tail of the Dragon. I wasn't able to make the trip. From what I heard it's alot of fun.

Went and hit the Iron Pony today with my wife to do a little gear shopping, try on helmets and such. Good trip, found out our sizes and got to try on about every jacket under the sun. Now if I could just write that check for the bike....soon grasshopper, very soon.
