Suzuki GZ250 2006 Defective Pipes?

#1 Unread post by slimdiggie »

I am looking to buy this bike but, I was concerned about the coloration of the pipes. The guys said they were defective on the gz250 models. Has anyone heard of this??

Thanks,
Geremy

Don't know anything about 2006 GZ250's, but that looks like normal bluing of header pipes. They're probably single-walled pipes. Many bikes come from the factory with fuel mixture set pretty lean to pass emissions. Lean = hot exhaust, means the pipes blue easily. You should see my '05 Triumph Bonneville - they're blued all the way down to the second bend.

If it was me buying that bike, I wouldn't give that a second thought.

I agree. Looks like normal blueing to me. I wouldn't give it another thought, assuming it runs OK.

Yup, absolutely normal.

I'd be more concerned about the blistering on the chrome, paint, and seat :D

The guy is asking 2400 for the bike and i'm going to ask him if he will take 2,000 if its in a good shape. Do you think 2k is to low to offer at first I don't want to affend the guy..

How old is it?

I think $2000 sounds reasonable.

it's a 2006 with 5,100 miles on it. Still think 2k is good or to low?

Hm, if it's that new, $2000 might be a bit of a lowball.

Reality is that he can probably get $2400 for it, so.....

Slim, isn't this exactly what you were looking for and at exactly the right price? And weren't you having trouble finding them?
