Yeah the '07 leftovers are heck of a deal.shalihe74 wrote:Amen to that!! My dealership still has 2 07s in inventory - as soon as I get a job, I'm giving my bf the cash to buy me one. With his employee discount and perks, it's going to be a wicked deal.HYPERR wrote: Yeah you're probably right. The Speed Triple definitely has a reputation.![]()
It turns ordinary law abiding riders into total hooligans!

Then I, too, can finally unleash my inner Speedy-induced hooligan.

You will definitely turn into a hooligan with this bike!

Triumph really did an amazing job totally capturing the looks of a crashed GSXR and turning it into such a great looking beast!

What color Speed Triple do you have your eye on?

Hrm... could have sworn I responded to this already. Oh well...HYPERR wrote: Yeah the '07 leftovers are heck of a deal. The price being quoted aren't that much more than the Street Triple which are sold at full price. More so if you are getting an employee discount!!

The boy and I did the math and it looks like, after everything is said and done, the bike would be between $5000 and $6000.

While I do love the look of the Speedy, I have to admit it is its performance that has me drooling. I just can't get over all that torque...
I think my dream bike is a 675-styled bike (with the 06/07 graphics, not the 08 monstrosities, thank you) with the 1050 motor in it....

Wow that's an incredible deal!!!shalihe74 wrote:

I think the Green is the best color!

The dealer that I looked at only had the white one left, which was my least favorite on that bike.

Hmmm, one of my favorite bike companies. They've got loads of bikes that do really well in their respective classes; the Daytona 675, Speed and Street Triples, Tiger, Sprint, Rocket III. You get lots of character, and distinct styling and engines for not much more (or sometimes at the same price point) as the Japanese brands.

I hate to be the fly in the ointment here, but I had two of the Hinckley Triumphs - a '95 Thunderbird 900 and an '01 Tiger 955i - and they were the biggest pieces of crap I've ever owned. I had many major issues with them, both in and out of warranty and they were very expensive to maintain.
To be fair, '95 was the first year of the Thunderbird and many of the problems (defective alternator bolts, defective circuit card in wiring harness, defective ignition sensors, overcharging regulator/rectifiers, blown tail light bulbs, worn out carb bores, etc) were fixed in subsequent years but it still made for a lousy ownership experience.
'01 was also the first year of the revamped 955i Tiger with its new motor and again there were several issues (weak clutch cables, defective regulator/rectifiers, leaking gaskets, fading powdercoat paint on motors, cheap plastic fuel line connectors that broke repeatedly, etc). The bike rode and performed like a dream, but I traded it after only one year and 40,000km for something a lot more reliable from Kawasaki.
I'm sure Triumph has come a long way since my experiences with the brand, but I will never buy another one again. Ever.

triumph has been around for a long time
there is no better bike than a triumph. once i heard a fellow complain about a triumph but he was on a Harley so i think the viberations had confused his brain and he had the two mixed up. BUT REALLY there really isnt any crappy motorcycles unless maybe some off brand chinese junk.

Had the use of a Triumph Scrambler for the day last week. After I recovered from the culture shock of the high bars and upright posture, I had a great time. What a giggle! Terrific bike! Lovely engine! 900ccs and sharp steering. Makes my 955 Daytona feel a little 'bulky'.
