I actually prefer to wear ear-plugs on longer trips for just the reasons you stated.SHADOW1100T wrote:Weather you guys listen to tunes or not makes no difference to me but just remember that your replacing one noise with a louder one to overcome the surrounding noise, it your ears so do what you want but while your rideing you might want to start practicing HUH,,Wadd you say, mind repeating that, sorry I didn't catch that,,,to name a few.

Check your state regs first... admittedly its tough to get caught. Some states allow ONE earbud, some NOTHING at all in the ears (MD is one) but helmet speakers are allowed.dostadawg wrote:Any recommendations for stereo earbuds for Ipod listening while crusing? Is a $100 set significantly better than a $25 set? Any particular brand or style that will stay in the ear canal better than others?
Thanks

JVC "Marshmallow" ear buds. Cheap, good and block ambient noise.

Shure SE110 are pretty good for the price, much better than the stock stuff.

I used to use the cheap Sony earbuds but ever since I started using stuff like Ultimate Ears (Super.Fi 3 Studio is great at the $80 but kinda awkward to put in but comfortable) and Shure I couldn't go back to the cheap stuff. The two companies also offer 2 year warranties for their stuff and they are really quick about shipping you a new pair. Shure has been really great without asking what happened to the headphones, just what is wrong with them. Ultimate ears has a replaceable cable ($20) so I never really have to send them back.
Use in only one ear though, they block out most sounds except for horns.
