bike for tall guy

#1 Unread post by Bowen Kevin »

I am 6'5". Can anyone suggest a good, dual purpose bike for commuting and probably some limited touring?

Maybe a V-Strom?

:welcome2: to the site......
all the way from Vancouver.

I come over to Bowen a few times a year to walk, browse, eat and take photos. It's like having a mini vacation for a few hours. :)

Have you looked at a Kawasaki VerSys yet?
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

The Kawasaki KLR650 has been used as a tourer for years and has a 35" seat height, also look at their Versys with a 33" seat height.
407,211 miles in 30.1 years for 13,528 miles/year average. Started 7/21/84, updated 8/26/14

Yes, but it only boasts ABS in European models.

the V-strom has ABS. My 650 averages 57 mpg and has more than enough power to carry me, g/f and all my gear through the mountain passes. I'm about to take it on a 4,000 miles road trip. So good for smaller touring

When you say dual purpose bike, how much off-road riding do you intend to do?

How about this?

Sorry, I just couldn't help myself.

The KLR650 is a nice balance between dirt and street. It's not exceptional at either task, but it's pretty good at both.
