im 6'3" 340 and i bought an 08 honda rebel 250. i have never ridden a bike before and was told it would be a great starter bike. well it was, it lasted 3 weeks and i was ready to trade up. it is really to small for my frame. it runs great and will carry me 68 mph wot. i am now selling it and getting a 600. would like to get a 1100 + but cant afford it right now ..... maybe next year. good luck with the knee and your bike selection

Aight, I'm basically 80% on the knee. Seems like I didn't need surgery after all....just a whole lot of painful physical therapy. An I've been pushin it a lil.....something I shouldn't have been doing. But I'm back to standing on my own and jogging a block at a time.
so come to find out my girlfriends dad just TOTALLY FORGOT about the 3 Harleys he had in storage, when he moved to his apartment. He has 5....GO FIGURE! So he said I can take the class and borrow ride ONE OF HIS SPORTSTERS to practice on for a while! Then when all is good, I can ride around on the GLIDE....OH UM LOVIN IT!!!
Only thing is I'm trying to buy a house right now and the summer is ending. I don't think I want to be riding in the rainy season. An I'd rather start off riding on a continuous basis, rather than for a lil bit then skip a whole season.
But I'm still lucky.....lol. But thanks guys for all the advice....I'll be back.
I'm thinking ultimately I want 2 bikes. A Glide and a Yamaha Raider.
